Where We Travel
We work out from Avenue B and cover the areas around it: Maxey Park a mile northwest, Caprock and Bayless Atkins a couple miles southeast, Bowie to the west-northwest, Arnett Benson to the north, and out past Dunbar-Manhattan Heights and Parkway/Cherry Point on the east side. We also take calls from Wolfforth, about eight miles out, and go as far as Slaton and Abernathy when the job calls for it.
Most of the doors we open up were hung on houses built between 1963 and 2003, with the bulk of that stock going back to the 1960s and 70s across these named areas. That matters because a door and opener installed in 1969 doesn't take the same parts as one from a 2001 build, and knowing which decade a neighborhood went up saves us a trip back to the truck.
We don't drive out for jobs way outside this radius. If you're calling from somewhere we don't cover, we'll tell you straight instead of quoting a trip charge that doesn't make sense for either of us.
Who Turns Up

Lubbock's cold-moderate winters mean steel doors and their hardware take a different kind of wear than they would somewhere with a milder climate - rubber seals crack, cables stretch, and lubricant that was fine in August gums up by January. That's a routine part of the work here, not an unusual call.
We won't tell you a door needs replacing just because it's old. Plenty of the doors from the 1960s and 70s builds around here are still sound doors with tired hardware - a spring, a set of rollers, new cable - and it's cheaper and faster to fix the hardware than swap the whole unit. We'll say so when that's the case, and we'll say the opposite when the door itself has had it.
